Weigh In and the TRUTH

My weight this morning was 215.2, so no change. I exercised 4 times, but looking at my summary on my fitness pal, I see where I went wrong in my first week. I believe that my body is holding on to the weight as well due to me yo yoing so much and after the first week I would normally give up and try something else or nothing at all. But not this time!!!!
Here is the cold hard truth in black and white from my food journal last week. I tracked everything except one night and realized the enchiladas I loved so well, they have almost as much sodium as I should have in a day in that one meal.
Total Cal for the week: 18,704, how many I should have for the week.... 9,800!! That's a 3 lb difference right there and I didn't burn that much I know through exercise. I had almost double what I should have for the week. Duh, that explains why I stayed the same!
I really encourage you to look at your calorie report and do the same if you aren't losing. I can't keep eating that got me in this mess, I have big changes to make and seeing it printed for the whole week, makes a huge difference. I am going to keep these in a binder and look back.

Week 1 update

Weigh in day is tomorrow! I wanted to change it up to hold myself accountable over the weekend so it will be Monday. As far as my goals, well I did drink 80 oz of water 5 of the 7 days and maybe more those days and logged everything, the good and bad except for one night- Thursday. I worked out 4 days this week to Jillian's shred, level 1. I just took a peak at level 3-WOW! I don't know if I will get there anytime soon but I will try.

It feels so good to be in control, in the drivers seat and really putting forth effort this time. Now I just gotta stay away from the sweets, and leave my calories to the healthier choices.

I found that my toddler will drink smoothies again and realized you can throw anything in there! Today he had strawberry greek yogurt, banana, and an apple he bit off of and voila! He sucked it down.

Can't wait to weigh in tomorrow and will post good or bad. If I don't have a loss, then we know the food out weighed the exercise for sure! Stay tuned...

Goals for this week

I have been thinking alot about what I need to do and I have started but have a long journey ahead. So setting small goals will help me achieve the bigger picture.

1. Drink at least 80 oz of water everyday and stay away from milk! I do love my milk but it has alot of sugar and carbs.

2. Shred every single day- I joined a challenge and I don't want to let anyone down. It's somehow easier to commit to others than just myself, is that weird?

3. Be accountable for every single bite, this is a work in progress to eat less "junk" and just eat when I am hungry but I can do it!

4. Play outside with my baby boy and not just watch him from the patio.

5. Finally, hopefully all of this will pay off and I will lose at least 2 lbs on Friday!

Have a good week~

Feeding a toddler

So we all get tired of the same old foods and feeding our kids chicken nuggets. I know my 2 yr old gets tired of them. Tonight he wouldn't try baked chicken or a new Mac and cheese recipe but he did eat puréed sweet potatoes, a roll, and cantaloupe. So that's healthy even though he wouldn't try the other foods. If its not fried he won't eat the chicken. So just my thoughts- he will eat puréed veggie pouches from the store so I can make that and save on money!!

Lighter Version of my "spice" cake

I lightened up one of my all time favorite recipes last night. My great aunt used to make this cake called "Sarah's cake" and it's delish for breakfast or any other time of day. I substituted applesauce for the oil and truvia for the sugar. It turned out perfect and so moist! Enjoy at 186 calories a slice, cut into 16 slices using a bundt pan.

1 box yellow cake mix
1 box jello instant pudding-vanilla
4 eggs
3/4 cup water
3/4 cup applesauce or oil
dash of vanilla
2 ts cinnamon
Mix well with mixer and pour into a well sprayed bundt pan and bake at 350 until done, usually about 40 minutes.

Starting Point and Weekly Review

I am going to have my weigh in days on Friday's and todays weight is 215. OUCH! But it is what it is, I am not ashamed to say it out loud, hello you can tell by looking at me I am a whale. Ok, enough beating myself up.

This week, I did improve in a few areas:
1. I tracked good or bad what I ate on mfp
2. I tracked my water intake, more than before but not enough.
3. I planned my lunches for a few days- this is always my downfall is lunch where I consume the most calories!
4. I have made new friends thanks the fb page we adore!

I have a long ways to go and alot of weight to lose but baby steps and seeing how many calories are in the foods I love will just have to be modified right?

I made a smoothie this morning for breakfast and my toddler who is 2 loved it and was eating frozen blueberries out of the bag! Love it-

With tomorrow beginning a new month I will start the 30 day shred tomorrow so I can track all 30 days and measurements.

I will post my recipe from last night in a new blog post! Happy Friday, our 7 yr anniversary is Monday- will post pics later of a before and after.
